I finally had a chance to take the flash drive apart.
The connector was literally taken off the board.
I might be able to solder the contacts, connector back on to the
board itself and get it to work. I will sit down when I have the
time to do this and not feel rushed.
Otherwise I will solder the contacts back onto the board and connect
alligator clips to them (soldered to the cable.)
Al there is on the board are the solder points.
I do have a fine tip soldering iron to do some of this work.

I would suggest getting some fine alligator clips and soldering/
attaching those to a USB cable. and clipping the cable to the
remnants of your USB drive. That way you aren't depending too
highly on your soldering expertise and risking/ stressing the all
important drive any further than it is already...

What I have considered doing is opening the Flash Drive, and
getting a USB cable, cutting off the B end of it, and soldering
the wires directly to the Flash drive to use the A end of the
cable to connect it to a computer and transfer the contents of it
to a Computer and burn a CD of it.
Yes, this would work. However, if you are asking such a question
you probably do not have the soldering skill to do the job without
damaging the the PCB.
If the connector completely broken off? If you still have even a
little bit of the 4 metal contacts in place you might be able to
jam it into a USB socket. The outside metal seath is not required.
