I think that you can set the net so that only
certain MAC addresses are allowed. Is this
"bulletproof"?
WEP has been a problem since it was created really, but recently it had
gotten worse.

I was at a geek gathering this weekend. One fellow told us of a poor
soul who only used WEP to secure his wireless network and someone
cracked it and used his connection to download child porn. The upshot
was that the owner of network was sentenced to 5 years per image. The
object lesson is that WEP can be cracked with relative ease these days
by monitoring packet traffic.

Your home or office WiFi network may be even less secure than you
think. Researchers have now shown that they can break 104-bit WEP, a
common 802.11b/g/n security mechanism, in as little as one or two
minutes. A team at the Technische Universität Darmstadt said that they
can grab the key with a 95 percent probability of success in as little
as two minutes using a 1.7GHz Pentium-M machine to do the
calculations.

Subject: Wireless Printer Server Connectivity Issue
I have an Actiontec DSL modem/router set up with 128 bit WEP. For that,
I just type in a 26-digit hex key. I am now trying to connect a Netgear
wireless printer driver, but the WEP screen has four keys, the option to
type in a passphrase to generate the keys, and the option for public or
shared-key access. I have tried all the permutations that I can think of
and still can't get the two boxes to talk to each other.
