Did you change anything else? This scanner is USB powered. Perhaps you 
are now using a different USB port that is not supplying enough power?

This is a TWAIN scanner. Have you tried any other software that supports 
TWAIN to see if it accesses the scanner?

I have seen problems caused by multiple drivers or programs trying to 
control a scanner at the same time. Are you sure that your new OS install 
did not include  some TWAIN drivers?
