They wanted to see what they could do with them, etc. One of the first things was to buy games, both CPM and Apple and eventually IBM did okay in that market. Apple had a pretty firm lock on the education market with the Apple II with Logo(??) for teaching some elementary programming skills. I wonder why/who funded the first attempt at a word processing application for the personal series of computers? I also wonder if IBM funded some part of an office application? Question for the group: what free application included with Windows 3 caused most of the sales (this according to my foggy memory)? Answer (again, same foggy memory) ... solitaire. Does anyone remember how much success Windows 1 or 2 had? -- Take care | This clown speaks for himself, his job doesn't Wayne D. | supply this, at least not directly COBOL.....(C)ompiles (O)nly (B)ecause (O)f (L)uck ************************************************************************ * ==> QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in <== * ==> the body of an email & send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <== * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail?
