Thanks for reply, both from Betty and Tom.  Clearly,
my experience with CS3beta at the Apple Store is what
one can expect for the MacPro desktop.  Won’t work
for me.  Not lost on me is the relative sizes of
downloads for the g4 and the new intel-chip Macs,
often four times the size for the latter.  For now it
might be a G5 big berta I should be seeking to bump my
speed in CS2.  More research….

I never cease to be astonished at the image quality
mere street reporters were able to achieve with their
SpeedGraphics in the 40’s and 50’s.  A quality
which today in digital orient would require $25k to
emulate.  A close photographer friend in NB remarked
to me recently how a practised rotate of the wrist in
chemical photography represents hours of digital
screen.  Orthodoxies are impossible to counter, my
clients demand the image now, and I provide this.

Here is what my tech-hip Central European friends are
using now, and to a person they are not at all
intrigued by the iPhone.  As Apple customer,
end-to-end, it’s hard to accept, but they are truly
conversant with tomorrow, we here remain Model T…
