Tom MS is not alone.

I have downloaded both Itunes to handle my podcast collections and downloads, plus of course Quicktime for programs that need it.

I turn off their little quicktime taskbar program.

However sitting in my Windows taskmanager are three little programs that I did not authorize or want running.

Applemobiledevicesercice.exe
Ipodservice.exe
Ituneshelper.exe

Not one of these programs have I authorized nor do I want them running. However Apple must have earned from MS how to slip programs into your system so you can go and do what you want without the customer knowing it. SO MS is not alone in this concept, Jobs is not far behind.

Apparently the claim is that MS is doing this in the middle of the night. I do not have auto updates turned on, yet when I look through the log, the entry is there. Mine happened on 8/24 at 9:35 in the evening. I was not even online that night (I do know that for sure).

I can see possibly sneaking something in with an update, but that wasn't true in my case. How could something like that happen when the machine wasn't even turned on? It was plugged into the cable though. Isn't a hardware firewall supposed to prevent things like this from happening?
