My ThinkPad T61 had a 60G Hitachi in it, also bursting at the seams. I replaced it with a Western Digital Scorpio WD1600BEVS 160GB 5400 RPM Serial ATA150 hard drive. I sacrificed the performance of the 7200 RPM drive for the cost of the 5400 -- my Scorpio cost me $104 from Newegg last May. I don't notice any difference in noise or heat but doubling the storage made a big hit with me personally. -Mike
