Step 1 is to disconnect all data cables except the one going to your optical drive. Pull all cards that are not necessary for minimum function (probably keep the video card only). Disconnect everything other than the keyboard, mouse, and monitor. If you can get it to start in this configuration you can then start adding stuff back -- preferably one by one. If it doesn't start you now have only a small amount of hardware to worry about. Yesterday I was pulling my hair out after an OS upgrade on a computer that had been working fine. The computer would KP during startup or within a minute or two of startup, but not at the same point. It would also KP when booting off a DVD, again doing it a different points in the startup sequence. Eventually I isolated the problem to a SCSI card.
