Looking at an Aspire laptop, AS5720-4126 at Microcenter:

The specs have the basics of what is needed in a laptop and it looks and
works nicely. Other than it being Vista as well as not being an Mac (Tom
;-) ), is this a safe buy? I don't have any experience with Acer laptops.
Any comments will be appreciated.
