Sometimes, those labels are peelable.  Give that a
try, using a knife blade to peel up an edge.  Solvents
will get you into deep shinola.  Lightscribe drives
are now quite affordable.  The images are not
super-terrific, but  serviceable.  Paper labels are
now unnecessary, confer them to the bin that holds all
of those floppies.
