Instead of deleting empty cells, select the active cells that contain your data. Then set print area [File>Print Area>Set Print Area]. When you print or export, only those cells will be used.
Or you can just select the active cells with data and export only those cells. Easier than selecting invisible active cells, and it will make the manager happy. Make it seem complicated, then she'll be thrilled that you did it so fast.
