Gosh, you are right. This is obviously a huge Communist plot to

This is even worse than the time when all the sanitation workers who

I was actually trying to be a bit serious, not silly as your
response appeared to be.
Who would run and control such a transportation system of automated
vehicles? Governmental agencies or private entities? We now have an
amalgam of city, county, state, private and federal roadways, each
under differing control mechanisms. Will cities allow their roads to
be "taken over" by outside entities? Ditto for county, state and
private roadways. Will our federal highway system be turned over to
corporations that may be contracted to install, own and operate these
automated systems, collecting fees from those who use travel upon
those roadways?
I see many, many questions and issues to be settled, and probably
long years of haggling to reach accords, if that is even possible.
Then, we have the question of how to financially afford all of it in
the first place as we witness the world's economy faltering at the
same time that almost everyone begins to realize that we have been
living far beyond our means as it is. How many trillions will such a
transportation system cost to get up and running at the same time that
we seem hell-bent on waging a world wide and unending war that is
starting to suck the life out of us in more ways than one?
