> I don't use this setup, but it seems that your problem may be in the IR >transmitter/receiver... Let me get this straight: > >Your TiVo tells your DirectTV receiver to change channels through the IR >dongle (that you have positioned in front of your DirectTV receiver). >The DirectTV receiver misunderstands the channel requested, and goes to the >wrong channel (with a bouncing 721). Yep.... That's exactly what's happening. >When you use your remote, are you using the TiVo remote the change channels >on the DirectTV DVR? (Thus using the same faulty IR Transmit/recieve link) Yes. The Tivo remote is the only one I use. >Is there another IR device transmitting in the same room? (wireless >headphones, palm pilot, TV remote stuck in a sofa cushion with a button >pushed) Try sheilding the IR link from outside interferance with books, >cardboard, etc., Try optimal placement of the IR transmitter about 18" in >front and center of your DirectTV box. No other IR devices. I actually took the batteries out of the other remotes "just in case" one was transmitting when it shouldn't be. I've never tried the 18" placement, but can give that a try as a test. ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
