Based on my observations of the quality of service at the "big box" electronic chain stores, you might as well fold your money into the shape of a boat and set it adrift on the Potomac. Those folks are in the business of selling you new Stuff, not repairing anything. You would be much better off finding a local guy whose reputation can be checked. (just my opinion, of course)
