Have you tried using Windows Task Manager (Control, ALT, Delete), to
see what is using up the CPU? Your System Idle Process should be above
90% when you aren't doing anything. For more detailed info, you can
also use Process Explorer, but start with Task Manager if you don't
already have PE.
