Wow a reader at macworld...must be an expert. How about an article from
cnet?

http://m.zdnet.com.au/139239586.htm?redir=1

That cnet piece is from 2006 but the same problems are still within os x,
not the specific security threat, but in general other known/unknown
vulnerabilities.

How about a blog piece from the apple blog?

http://theappleblog.com/2008/01/23/why-mac-security-matters-os-x-rootkit-hunter/

That one is recent. I especially like the part about mac zealots who claim
*nix stronger security don't seem concerned about the 91 security problems
reported in freebsd.

Facts are since *nix variants run various high end/high bandwith areas, they
have been targeted for rootkits/trojans for some time. Some with only minor
tweaking can affect os x systems. I have a friend online who just last week
was cleaning his machine from a rootkit on a *nix box.

My cousin used to have an opal gt...that car never got stolen, that must
mean if *everyone* drove an opal, no one would ever have their car stolen.

Do I run anti virus on my mac? No, but not because I think os x is more
secure.
