My son Cavan wants to get a Mac Mini [wants our MINI too ;-D]. I
suggested that he get the new one instead of the leftover that's on
sale. But the top Mini of last generation is almost the same except for
FW 400 vs. 800, better video card, 4 vs 5 USB ports, built-in composite
and s-video [?]. He has keyboard and mouse; will get more RAM from
OtherWorld [2GB ~ $25 shipped].
He has an iMac iLamp, so he needs a monitor--wants a 20" LCD. Affordable
suggestions please. Am looking at Newegg: ASUS VW202NR 20", ViewSonic
Value Series VA1926w Black-Silver 19"; Beast Buy: Acer - 20" Widescreen
Flat-Panel LCD X203H. I'm leaning toward the Acer at Best Buy, partly
since it's within walking distance of his house so he can get immediate
gratification.
