For others, getting a "mini stereo" may be a good move as it adds capabilities along with the speakers. I really don't want to be playing CDs via my computer's optical drive.
Has anyone seen a good audiophile-grade "mini stereo"? Mine is now over 20 years old and has lost some functions. When I went shopping for a replacement all I saw was big and ugly units that looked more like boom boxes.
