There are few NLEs that come close to Final Cut Pro. Maybe Avid, but
it's even more confusing. Once you learn the basics of FCP, it has no
rivals for professional video editing. And, yes, I've used quite a few
apps/solutions over the past 15 years. No, I didn't have FCP training;
RTFM and practice was enough, plus moving away from Avid made FCP easy
by comparison.
I've taken several courses from Apple and related vendors. They're
excellent. Best one was for ArchiCad. The video training was so far
beyond what other companies offered, I was immediately sold on their
software, and the hardware [videocams] they featured.
BTW, Adobe Premiere Pro requires a proprietary OS, and is not as good as
FCP. What's your point?
No question, Final Cut is one of the more difficult NLEs to learn.
Very steep learning curve. Probably rivaled only by Avid.
But let's not confuse your decision to go with a difficult app - one
that virtually demands training - to then praise the trainers needed
at whatever cost. You guys could just as easily chosen an NLE that has
virtually no learning curve. There are many, and only FCP requires a
proprietary OS.
> I had my first session yesterday, & am amazed that Apple can offer this level of
training for only $99/year. Myself & several co-workers are learning Final Cut (&
trust me, you need thrusters on full when learning this program).
