It may work to avoid so-called "persistence," but will continue to age the screen prematurely. Nothing wrong with letting the computer and hard drives go to sleep either, in my humble opinion. They need some rest too, just like you. I realize that there are plenty of folks who, for whatever reason, want to keep their personal computers fully running on all cylinders at all times, never turning anything off or allowing any components go to "sleep" ever. Do these folks leave their cars idling overnight? TV always turned on 24 hours a day?
