I'm constantly throwing away Macs that work just fine. They just won't run any software that I still want to use. So sad.

Also consider that most people do not want to be devoting any time to constant maintenance. They don't want to have to buy and maintain a phalanx of anti-malware programs. They don't want to see constant pop- ups asking for credit card numbers to renew their protection. They want the computer to just work. Only the Mac does that. Now with Time Machine the Mac even elegantly takes care of file backups. To propose using a PC in this situation is just ridiculous.
