As a conservator recently out of grad school and entering the professional
conservation sphere, I'm interested in learning more about current accepted
practices within conservation. Most recently I've been hearing a lot of
opinions about the use of Renaissance Wax as a coating on metals, both good
and bad. I was wondering what the current consensus is about the use of
Renaissance Wax in conservation practice. In the case of unfavorable
opinions about it, have they changed the formulation of it in recent years,
or have people noticed any undesirable aging properties? I'm typically a
fan of using it on indoor metals like bronzes, but I'm interested to know
if this is accepted modern practice.

Thanks!
