Subject: Biblio-Archaeology: A Codicological Inventory, Condition Survey and Preservation Needs Assessment of Pre-Modern Codices and Incunabula in the Rare Books and Manuscripts Library of the OSU Libraries
Message: My name is Danielle Demmerle. I am a student assistant at the Ohio State University Libraries Conservation Unit where I work with Harry Campbell, head conservator. This summer I was awarded the Undergraduate Research Library Fellowship, for which my proposal involves creating a condition survey, physical features inventory, and preservation needs assessment for 110 incunabula and manuscript codices in the Rare Books and Manuscript Library. I will be working under the advice and supervision of Harry, and Eric Johnson, curator of the RBML. To begin my fellowship I want to reach out to experienced conservators and learn more about condition surveys and how they are designed uniquely for particular collections. I hope that with your help I can create a new survey instrument which is tailored to the incunabula and codices in the OSU RBML, and one that is comprehensive enough for the Library to use for years to come. If you could share any advice, survey forms, or relevant citations for books or articles for my research, it would be most appreciated. Thank you and have a terrific day. ****** Unsubscribe by sending a message to [email protected] Archives through August 2016 at http://cool.conservation-us.org/byform/mailing-lists/cdl/ Archives from September 2016 onward at https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
