ThePreventive Conservation Science Laboratory in the Metropolitan Museum of 
Art’sDepartment of Scientific Research seeks applicants for 2018 
researchfellows.  Example areas of interest include but are not limited to 
thefollowing areas:  1) Display, storage, and building materials testingusing 
advanced analytical techniques (GC/MS, HPLC, IC, UV/Vis, IR, etc.) forthe safe 
display and transport of art including the analysis of volatiles andtheir 
effect on art, 2) The effect of modern pesticides on art, and 3)Identifying, 
monitoring and establishing acceptable thresholds for volatilesand urban 
pollutants, 4)  Understanding selection criteria and developingsaturation 
markers commercially available chemical absorbents used to purifyvitrine 
volumes.

 Eligibility:  Recent master's graduates, PhD candidates, postdoctoralscholars, 
and senior scientists and researchers are eligible to apply.
