In Painting Conservation we have recently downloaded the Platypus software to
cancel out the effects of wooden cradles on x-rays of panel paintings. Our
initial attempts at using the software have yielded only so so results so we
are hoping that other painting conservators have come up with ideas for
improving the software and getting better results. We are using Macs so
perhaps PCs might work better? All advice welcome.
