LMA is the largest local government archive repository in the United Kingdom. 
Based in Clerkenwell and administered by the City of London, its holdings run 
to around 100km of documents from 1067 to the present. LMA holds local 
government and other records for the Greater London area and the City of 
London. These collections have been awarded designated status by the Arts 
Council. LMA is an Accredited Archive Service.

LMA is recruiting for a part time permanent paper conservator The post holder 
will be required to develop and implement conservation and collections-care 
operations that involve the location, protection, remedial conservation and 
preservation of archival collections held by LMA, which are defined as books, 
parchment, 'flatwork' (primarily maps, plans, tracings and prints), photographs 
and modern media, and to specialise on the conservation treatment of flatwork; 
to survey and estimate items and collections for treatment; to prepare 
collections for digitisation; to maintain and improve their storage and apply 
preservation policies as directed.

Applicants will have a recognised qualification in the fields of paper, archive 
or book conservation or equivalent with PACR accreditation from the Institute 
of Conservation or a commitment to gain accreditation. Experience of working in 
an archive would be an advantage.

The post holder will work to the Conservation Studio Manager.
