--- Comment #4 from Michael Doerner <[email protected]> 2009-11-21 18:37:50 ---
more details / observations:
Although this server runs mailstat every night, we have seen an email regarding
this bug only three times since the upgrade to this new qpsmtd version.

Searching through qpsmtpd logfiles and trying to find a pattern that happened
on the three days only when mailstats created the nightly email.

cat /var/log/qpsmtpd/current | grep tls | tai64nlocal | less

This shows three different types of messages:

2009-11-22 12:53:04.050616500 10950 tls plugin (init): ciphers: HIGH (lots of
messages)

2009-11-22 11:47:05.821525500 27881 tls plugin (unrecognized_command): TLS
setup returning (many of these)

2009-11-10 06:45:36.112594500 TLS failed: Could not create SSL socket:
Transport endpoint is not connected at /usr/share/qpsmtpd/plugins/tls line 176,
<STDIN
> line 2.

The third one seems to be "the pattern" which happens very rarely and only on
the three days when the nightly mailstats email was created.

Here is the whole log sequence:

I will try to find a bug number for the current 'tls' related changes and link
this over there. I hope this to be helpful at both ends.
