I'd raise a bug upstream and show the preinstall script for both
mysql-server and ejabberd. This clearly shows that both are created
using the same uid/gid. There might be a reason they are doing this.
If it is a legit bug then they might fix it.
What problems are you experiencing with the uid/gid being the same?
