This will also be an issues with epel6 and redhat:
[r...@server Packages]# rpm -qp --scripts
mysql-server-5.1.42-4.el6.i686.rpm
preinstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh):
/usr/sbin/useradd -M -o -r -d /var/lib/mysql -s /bin/bash \
