Daniel,
I have been following this bug closely because I had the same problem
as described by Ishmael. I did not disable the service; could it be
possible that the contrib was installed with the status disabled, and a
command to enable it failed? In the messages log that Ishmael provided,
what was the line that showed that he disabled the service?
