Thank you HFW and turandor.
I followed turandot's suggestion and checked the version of AFFA version. It
seemed to be OK but I was dubious. I had installed from the earlier instruction
and I think changes have been made to fix things since then. In fact, I thought
the best thing was to uninstall the lot. Which I did.
I have now re-installed everything according to the newly revised wiki (thank
you!) and it seems to be working. There is a lot of data to backup (600Gb) so I
will know for sure when it is done.
In the meantime, a "df - h" on the AFFA box shows a steadily increasing disk
used size, so I am happy.
I have tested the "rise" and "undorise" functions with AFFA3 and they worked
for me but then again, I have a very simple setup - basic file server with
AFFA, fetchmail, disksize and hwinfo the only contribs installed.
Once again, thank you. I think we must be getting close to having AFFA3 working
and in production
