There are two parts to this.
One is just a code annoyance. the \n does not create a new line. They just need
removing.
The reason for the 500 error was as noted on the other bug that the networks DB
get sets set BACK to 0640 when you update the networks DB with the server
manager.
So your setting of 0644 gets overwritten and the gitweb cannot access the DB.
I guess the solution is what permissions gitweb has and why can't it access the
DB with the stock settings ?
