--- Comment #37 from Dan Brown <[email protected]> ---
But something strange is going on with DNS resolution in general. This just
shouldn't happen:
[root@dehydrated-test ~]# host cert.stg-int-x1.letsencrypt.org
;; connection timed out; trying next origin
Host cert.stg-int-x1.letsencrypt.org not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
[root@dehydrated-test ~]# host cert.stg-int-x1.letsencrypt.org
cert.stg-int-x1.letsencrypt.org is an alias for
cert.stg-int-x1.letsencrypt.org.edgesuite.net.
cert.stg-int-x1.letsencrypt.org.edgesuite.net is an alias for
a1759.dscd.akamai.net.
a1759.dscd.akamai.net has address 104.104.244.105
a1759.dscd.akamai.net has address 104.104.244.81
a1759.dscd.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2600:1402:19::6868:f469
a1759.dscd.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2600:1402:19::6868:f451

[root@dehydrated-test ~]# host acme-staging.api.letsencrypt.org
;; connection timed out; trying next origin
Host acme-staging.api.letsencrypt.org not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
[root@dehydrated-test ~]# host acme-staging.api.letsencrypt.org
acme-staging.api.letsencrypt.org is an alias for
api.letsencrypt.org.edgekey.net.
api.letsencrypt.org.edgekey.net is an alias for e981.dscb.akamaiedge.net.
e981.dscb.akamaiedge.net has address 23.41.11.13
e981.dscb.akamaiedge.net has IPv6 address 2001:559:15:188::3d5
e981.dscb.akamaiedge.net has IPv6 address 2001:559:15:198::3d5

[root@dehydrated-test ~]# host cert.int-x3.letsencrypt.org
;; connection timed out; trying next origin
Host cert.int-x3.letsencrypt.org not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
[root@dehydrated-test ~]# host cert.int-x3.letsencrypt.org
cert.int-x3.letsencrypt.org is an alias for
cert.int-x3.letsencrypt.org.akamaized.net.
cert.int-x3.letsencrypt.org.akamaized.net is an alias for
a1466.dscd.akamai.net.
a1466.dscd.akamai.net has address 104.104.244.80
a1466.dscd.akamai.net has address 104.104.244.25
a1466.dscd.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2600:1402:19::6868:f419
a1466.dscd.akamai.net has IPv6 address 2600:1402:19::6868:f450
[root@dehydrated-test ~]#

On all of these, the second attempt immediately followed the first. I'm
starting to think (more strongly) that what we're really dealing with is an
issue with the DNS resolver on SME Server, and this is simply a symptom.
