Michael,
I understand your point of view, But Removing those prior versions will still
leave the most older version which is the base version on sme/centos : php53.
Hence there would be no real advantage in term of security.
I understand there would still be an advantage in term of space.
Others would also still need those version for backward compatibility. And I
see no easy way to make it easy to remove them without making hard to install
it for who needs them,
unless you see an easy way, I suggest a wont fix.
