I don't think the /.well-known/acme-challenge/ folder is involved in this
issued. That path is only used while renewing a LE certificate.
The security (LE cert) is used (according to Safari and Chrome), I suspect it's
more of a cosmetic issue.
But even then, it's still Basic Auth so somewhat unsafe in nature.
