If you're using supermount (/sbin/lsmod), you shouldn't be mounting CD's.
If you want to use that method, rmmod supermount and disable it in
/etc/modules.conf (also change /etc/fstab entry). If you've already done
these things, then there definitely is a problem. Eject works for me with
supermount, although I've heard one other report of it not, but they did
not lock up. Could be there is something different on the slot-loading
machines.
BTW - Mandrake has a util for changing your /etc/fstab settings to use or
not use supermount, and if the module does not load for whatever reason,
it disables it automagically:
supermount -i enable
supermount -i disable
will setup /etc/fstab appropriately
I just double checked here, and eject is still working with 2.4.4-6.1mdk
and supermount for me.
At least it's good to see the kernel boots for someone ;^)
