I have had a problem now. I am getting a hard freeze when I try to logout of
a kdm session. Whether it is a logout, or from cmd line shutdown or reboot
it goes to a grey screen and then freezes hard. I then tried gdm and the
same thing, although it let me log out to the sign in screen once but when i
tried to log back in and back out it froze. I then tried xdm, it let me log
in and out but of course that did not help my reboot or shutdown. From
runlevel 3 i can shutdown and reboot okay.
