You've got the right place. I'm assuming the installer setup /dev/hda10
as the bootstrap partition for booting Linux or MacOS, which should have
been created as HFS. Is your free space at the end of the hard drive?
This is important that there not be any holes in the middle of the
partition table, or the installer gets confused. The junk during the text
install is annoying, but should not affect the success of the install.
I can either try to help you recover from where you're at now, or we can
try to redo the install, once you give me some info on your current drive
setup.
