I'm trying to rebuild an rpm from source (like I've done so many times in the past) and for some reason, I can't.  I type:

rpm --rebuild libnspr4-4.1-3mdk.src.rpm

And I get rpm spitting back to me the command line options for rpm.  If I type rpm --help, I see the --rebuild option (and --recompile).  Same with man rpm.  But neither of those options seem valid.

# rpm -q rpm
rpm-4.0-26mdk

What's going on?  Has anyone else been able to rebuild an rpm from src?
