36000 - set on the CD image - wasn't sure if you were using that

What package? There are some install logs in /root after the install.

What you may be seeing, is that I have been unable to update anything
other than RPM's since mid-december. The ISO, on the other hand, has
installer updates I've done since then.

That is entirely possible. The mirrors have been in sad shape lately. I
restarted updates as of Monday, and have not done any new installs yet
based on that source tree. (although the updates happen to my build
machine as part of the build process).

Are you actually installing from the mirror or downloading the tree and
installing from there? Installing directly from the mirror will always be
difficult as I'm updating daily, and deplist and hdlist are not being
regenerated. This step you need to do locally from your downloaded tree.
