I'm no expert, but here's what I did (from memory). The ftp sites include files named, like, md5sums-8.2.ppc. Look in these file and note the numbers. Write them down.
Get the application md5app for OSX. Here's a link: http://www.macosxapps.com/article.php?story=200201240826062 MD5APP against the downloaded iso's. Compare the number. It should match.
