I have a 550MHz TiBook (the same one that I sent during 8.2 testing). I tried launching the installer with various boot options (install-radeon, install-aty, install-aty128fb), but the screen turns black when the graphical installer should appear. At that point console 1 says "Entering step 'Choose your language'", but nothing appears on console 7. I'm pretty sure this Mac used 'install-radeon' for 8.2. I then tried the default boot option (by not making any selection at all) and the graphical installer appeared in a strange blue color. I was able to choose the Installation class, but then received the error: "Can't access kernel modules corresponding to your kernel (file /lib/modules.cz-2.4.18-4mdkBOOT is missing)". The same error message appeared when I tried a text-based installation from two different mirrors. The readme file says "You need to prep your RPM download directory." Does that mean we *have* to conduct a local install? I don't have a local repository of PPC Cooker yet so I used: ftp://ftp.ciril.fr/pub/linux/mandrake-devel/cooker/ppc/ and ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.mandrake-linux.com/Mandrake-devel/cooker/ppc/ Thanks for any tips. -- Phil Lavigna
