i am still unclear about these ppc kernels. i am curious as to the difference between the bitkeeper and benh trees and the linuxppc trees, but since everyone seems to go with the benh kernel, so will i.
but... my real question
on the ppckernel.org page it says all this good stuff about the ibook optimised benh kernel, and i want to take advantage of that. is it possible to build this kernel almost the same, except with the addition of xfs and hfs+ modules?

None of the provided kernels have that module. You'll have to roll your
own unless ppckernels.org or somewhere has one with it built in.
as for actually going about compiling the kernel, 'make menuconfig' says i
need ncurses. 'urpmi ncurses' says it is already installed.

i presume urpmi is the best mandrake can offer, but i can't seem to get it to
access media other than the cd's. could someone give me an example with a
mirror?
