It's not a bug, it's an opinion.
My RTC is set to GMT, because that's the way it's usually done on FreeBSD
and Linux works in both modes...
I see that maybe some more people care about having a running Windoze next
to Linux instead of FreeBSD, and Windoze can't handle GMT, so I've
modified (NOT fixed ;) ) the setting for 2.2.13-3mdk.
I don't think the kernel will be finished (currently compiling) in time
for 6.1 though...

Network modules don't go into the initrd unless you're booting from NFS.
Did you do a depmod -a?
