I have been saying this for about a month now, but
apparently everyone here uses KDE and gnome is
ultralow priority. But recently new gnome updates have
been released although not complete it will solve the
problem you have. I think the problem is caused by
either the gnome-libs or gnome-core packages. Also the
new control-center is not available yet, so use the
one from rawhide. The package for E carries the new
development version which does not nicely integrates
with gnome, so i recommend you use E from rawhide too.
Also gdm is not working either, because of
authentication problems; but the rawhide, redhat, and
older packages also have the problem, so I guess the
problem lies elsewhere, like in the XFree86 packages.
