I took the packages available on Friday 30th Sep, specifically the
1.0.40 gnome-libs and enlightenment 0.16-devel. The weird thing is that
the desktop links work under a newly created user, but are entirely
fuddled for the existing users.

Could be worse :) Integration with gnome isn't too much of a problem, I
just need to shift+Right click instead of a single right click to get
the gnome menu, and drag&drop towards the desktop isn't working.

Can't say, I'm not booting with either xdm/kdm or gdm.

Sorry to be a nuisance by using gnome :-) Continue with the good work,
I'm not in a hurry.
