I think that this is the same problem with standard install/upgrade.
Sometimes I have tryed to install Mandrake ( or RedHat ) on some corrupted
installation but the process failed at lilo-boot install. If the installation
found some lilo.conf try to append instead of sustitute this file.
I'm probably saying a stupid thing but the rescue diskette with tombsomething (
the minilinux distribution ) does not allow me to access files on hd.
Tryed mount with rw option and also chmod without results. Other times I have
tryed ( tryied ? ) to run defrag for hda1 starting from "tomb" with the same
results.
This is because the shell ( sh ? ) or something other like my mistake?
Thank you
Alessandro
