This brings up a point I wanted to mention.
It's a lot of extra compiling, but I'll bet we could win a lot of
user converts if we compiled each package for:
i386 / i486
i586
i686
ev4 / ev45
ev5
ev6
Just like there is a distinct improvement when optimizing for Pentiums
(-march=i586 or -march=i686), there is a distinct improvement when
optimizing for EV5 or EV6 specifically.
