Hello!

A few things I've noted while using Oxygen:

-Kdevelop: the number one KILLER APP! (or rather, killer app maker ;-))

Missing sgml2html and ksgml2html... Should be added as dependency to
KDevelop 1.0 as everything would compile without warning with it...

While creating the normal project template:

Can't locate Ast.pm in @INC (@INC contains:
/var/tmp/kdelibs-build-root/usr/share/kdoc
/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i386-linux
/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005 .
/var/tmp/kdelibs-build-root/usr/share/kdoc)
at /usr/bin/kdoc line 17. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at
/usr/bin/kdoc
line 17.

And compiling:

undecodable token: \1b[36l

The only other thing missing is the C/C++ Reference provided at
www.kdevelop.org.

-All that software and no ncftp !!! Isn't it the best command-line ftp
client? Ok, ok... I should be using gFTP anyway ;-)

-rpmdrake is confusing to me (how do I install packages from the
CDROM?) and there's no Help in the menu...

-clicking on the Doc link on the KDE desktop pops up an empty kfm.
Upon
investigation, the alias is to an alias (no, not a typo!) to
/usr/doc/mandrake/ru/mdkuserguide/index.html. Hmm, looks wrong...

-nmap: what I'd consider an essential part of a Network Management
workstation...

-balsa, gnome-xbill and perhaps other appears in the Gnome and X apps
submenu but are not installed. Is the menu static or custom
generated??

-Many menu program are missing icons - it does not look very
professionnal. Is this the way they are or is this a bug?

-In kpm, if the CMDLINE is too long, the display is screwed (CMDLINE
content word wrap but in a single line table cell!)

-Linux-mandrake should have a bugtracking software such as the one
RedHat has... Perhaps with an extra KDE app to submit bug reports with
full hardware specs and software configuration from the desktop.

-According to KDE help : "5.3 Using Templates to access Applications
and
Devices

One of the folders KDE places on your desktop when you log in the first
time is called Templates. It holds a number of files with a .kdelnk
extension (not shown). These kdelnk files are used to represent the
following in KDE: "

Now where's the Templates folder? Is it possible it disappeared when I
rm -fr ~/.kde/ ? Isn't it suppose to be that I right click on the
desktop and I can put a "New" Application? (the menu that pops up only
shows "New - Folder"?

-VMWARE complains everytime I start:

"Your Linux kernel CDROM driver does not appear to support software
control over the door lock. This support was first added in kernel
2.2.4. If your drive has a lockable door, you may want to upgrade your
kernel to version 2.2.4 or higher."

-licq is installed but appears neither in the KDE Internet menu or the
X apps Internet menu. While I'm at it, why not make a single menu for
both GTK, X and KDE apps? I mean, separating them is artificial at best
and may confuse new users.

-Sounds is ok now, plays stereo both from VMWARE and KDE. Slight
problem in VMWARE: speaker sometimes seems to "blow up" when a sound
clip starts.

-initial window size for ktop doesn't let you see the % in the
Performance meter.

-playing a *single* mp3 clip with kmpg creates the following
weird thing (multiple instances, incredible but not actual memory
usage):

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND

0:01 splay-yaf -a

Is this normal? Perhaps they all share the same memory but I'm left to
wonder why exactly kmpg does this.

-Eterm appears in the menu structure but is not installed. Once
installed, I can't seem to make it do interesting stuff (transparency,
backgroud pixmap) from the menu.

-Some programs should only run with an su first (logview, ksnuffle,
SysV init editor, GnoRPM, etc) when started as a regular user: they are
actually in my menu but when I start them now I only get errors
messages instead of the kde su popup.

-Most script-fu fonts needed by Gimp are not available. Either add
those fonts as dependencies or remove the non-working script-fu... Gimp
is one of the better apps and it would just be too bad to let users
think that it doesn't work...

-I noticed some weird behavior with the International Keyboard the
first time I used it to add the cf keyboard: although I pressed ok and
apply, it didn't take the setting... I had to do it again to make it
work. I also remember a demo I did awhile ago where I fought hard with
it to add a new keyboard. Don't know exactly where's the bug...

-netscape crashed again but...

[rngadam@pc165 rngadam]$ netscape-communicator
/usr/bin/netscape-communicator: pidof: command not found

Thanks,
