My point in this thread itself is:

The longer you continue to treat and believe " Joe Average User" and
"Idiot" and " most common people" etc etc etc etc etc as if they are
absolutely incapable of doing anything for them selves, the sooner
they WILL turn around and kick you in the A**.......

and that translates into no sales, no support for an excellent distro
etc etc etc on down the line, which translates into HUGH amounts of
wasted creativity from the people that created all Linux distro's in
the first place........

Face it guys, Linux is going mainstream, people are beginning to use it
at work and home, so called "Average, unable to type anything into
there system or to configure there system to there wims etc etc etc,
and by treating these people like MS and alot of other companies and
tech support etc treat them as complete and udder idiots, then as with
Linux, at first chance there out of here, onto something new that comes
along and your TOAST.

It would be magical to pop a cd into your drive, and POOF, your
computer is setup exactly tailored to your dreams and asperations on
how you figure it should be, but as i have said, with no standards in
anything , hardware software etc, those are absolute fantasies.

If you think the "AVERAGE" user believes he is going to be able to pick
up anything in Life, and turn it on, believing it is going to be
totally tailored to what he thinks it should be, without any imput from
them what so ever, then, with all due respect, i think it would be time
for you to step away from that monitor for awhile and go for a walk
among those so called "AVERAGE" people, and see for yourself, how
they believe things work.

I believe, the reason a great majority of users are coming to Linux now
is because , un-like MS etc, they DO have actual control over there
comp with Linux, un-like the dumb comp that MS et-al, have been serving
us for years.....

Tech support, naturally thrives off MS etc, because it is a "Dumb" OS,
hell Billy Boy created it that way for a reason, MONEY..... and i
also believe with the hype surrounding Linux, that Tech groups( ala
Corel) are seaking to do the same for Linux, lock it up out of the
"avearge users" hands , so when it naturally will not work with
something in his comp he has to call support. This, i have great
compasion for Linux Distro's that go this route, because if it turns
out that way, then someone, somewhere will come along and create
something new, giving you back control over your comp, and POOF there
goes your magical Linux Distro.....

There's something to be said for "Learning from the Past" you cant
change it, but you can prevent it from becoming your future..

Now if i can only find some funky command line, command, to finish of
my rant of the week.....hmmm, anyone know of one?

David

hmmmmm feel better already :)
